SEEING THE PORTRAIT is a 3-day immersive experience designed for individuals interested in exploring the art of portrait clay sculpting.
Knowledge of anatomy and measuring with calipers are important skills. But that is not what this class is about. It’s about learning to see—to recognize volume, space, proportion, and the relationships between forms, and then express what you see in clay.
Training the eye is the fundamental skill for any artist.
Join me for three “hands-on” days of portrait exploration.
No previous sculpting experience necessary
Learn through demonstrations and individual instruction
Explore the portrait from large forms to smaller forms
Leave with a new way of seeing
Come learn to look beyond “a nose” or “an eye” and discover the portrait as a living composition of forms.
